News was received last night stating that Alisa Ada Ferguson, who had many friends in Christchurch, died at Napier yesterday afternoon, after a brief illness. The Ridgley Select Assembly held its weekly dance in the Ridgley Hall on Saturday eight. An enjoyable time was spent by the large number present. The music was supplied by Hunter’s Orchestra. The recently formed Lilac Dance opened its season on Tuesday night at freeman’s Cafe. A most enjoyable evening was spent, between forty and fifty couples being present.
