TREATMENT OF CONSUMPTION.
DR BLACKMORE’S REMARKS ENDORSED. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN. April 20. Mr Knight, chairman of the Hospital Board, speaking on Dr Blackmorc’s indictment regarding want of method in the treating of consumption, endorsed much cf what- lie said. Mr Knight stated that there was a reluctance on the part of people in the early stages of the disease to submit themselves for examination. More encouragement should be given. Tlie re was no national policy. Patients could leave an institution at will. Nothing more had been heard of the scheme to establish a Government sanatorium in Central Otago, but he understood that a site had been selected at Waipiata.
