Tlte annual show of the Canterbury Sweet Pea, Carnation and Roy© Society, which is being held in a marquee erected in Victoria, Square, was well attended last night. Two additional collections of flowers for exhibition only were sent in this morning. One consisted of a number of particularly fine gladioli forwarded by an anonymous exhibitor, and the other of cactus, peony flowered, single and collarette dahlias forwarded by Mr V. J. Laing. Both collections have been staged in a prominent position and they make a beautiful display. The cup for six distinct varieties of gladioli donated by Mr A. S. Ward has been awarded to Mr J. Marshall. The show was open for public inspection to-day and was well attended. It will also be -onen this evening.
