CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP.

(Per. Piiess Association.) AU CKLAN D, Jan uary. (i. The thirteenth round is in progress. The rc-sult of the championship depends upon two games—Severne v. Dunlop and Gyles v. Davies, the first three mentioned playors each having scored ten wins. In Gyles v. Davies the position is most interesting. The former hay let a pawn go, hoping to bring off a mate. Davies, however, lLas a chance of a counter-attack, and no one can foretell the result. The game Severne v. Dunlop is oven more interesting. Severne, in capturing a rook and two pawns for a knight, placed his queen in danger. In getting the queen from her predicament be bad to give up a knight and a pawn. To forecast the winner would be impossible.
