THE COMFORT STATION.
ia TH* EDITOR. Sir The City Council should feej very small about tlieir comfort station proposal. A more ridiculous idea could not have been brought forward, and it is depressing to reflect that it found so much support from the councillors. Cathedral Square should bo safe from such outrageous invasions. A comfort station may be necessary, but it is useless to argue that the only suitable place is the Square. The Council seemed to be pandering to a notion that opposition to the comfort station would indicate a refusal to look after the interests of women and children. Surely the women of Christchurch aro not so childishly unreasonable.—l am, etc. OPPOSITION.
