CHRISTMUAS DAY, 1921.
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 14. Christmas Day falls on Sunday this year, and as a result creates a rather unusual situation. I n 1910 a Bill was introduced by the then Minister of Internal Affairs, with the object of Monday! sing certain statutory holidays, and one of the holidays which, when occurring on a Sunday," is to bo recognised on the following day, is Christ - mas Day. Though, other holidays may easily be postponed a day, tho effect at Christmas leads to complications. There,is. however, nothing to prevent rare meetings and other holidav sports which have previously been celebrated on Boxing Day from taking place on the Alondayised Christmas Day, Cahi net has been considering the matter as it affects business generally, and it is understood that an amendment to 1 the 1910 Act will be ■ proposed during | the session.
