The Marsh la lid-Maireha u Cycling Club held a 14-raile read race last evening, starting from the Mairehau Hall and going three times round thi block. The race which was very keenly contested, resulted as follows: G. IVeallans (6£min), riding time, 39 min 40seca, 1 ; H. It. Dixon (6jf min), riding time, 39min 40 2-sseo, 2; T Greig (3£min), riding time, 36min 40 2-ssec. 3. F. Shalders, from the scra/tch mark, secured the fastest time for the race, covering the distance in 34min 59secs.
