The loud report of a single explosion in Cathedral .Square shortly after two o’clock to-day startled those who heard it-. Some person with a perverted sense of humour had placed a detonator on the tramway line near Dalgety’s Corner, and the first tram to pass over that route did the rest. The report was really an alarming one, and not a few elderly people suffered from nerve shock.
