INDUSTRIES EXHIBITION.

FUTURE DISPLAYS PROPOSED. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 1. A meeting of exhibitors at the “ Made in New Zealand ” Exhibition unanimously adopted a proposal having for its object that each of the four centres should have an annual exhibition of goods made in New' Zealand, and that once in four years the exhibition should be on a Dominion scale in one of the four centres, in the year when tho Dominion executive of the Industrial Corporation of New Zealand would be located in that centre. Mr Frostick (Christchurch) and several others made complimentary references to the success of the exhibition and stressed the possibilities of the country with regard to the progress of manufactures. Mr Collins (secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce) stated that the executive of the Hamilton Winter Show desired to have an exhibition of manufactures at the Winter Show of 1922 and would undertake to provide special buildings for such exhibition. Mr Collins urged that it would be beneficial for manufacturers to show in tho centre of an important agricultural and pastoral district. After Hamilton the exhibition should be moved on in turn to Palmerston North, Christchurch and Dunedin for the big shows there. He hoped that manufacturers would decide on such a conrse of action, in which the Department of Industries and Commerce would co-operate energetically. Mr Manson (the Dominion’s representative at Melbourne) congratulated exhibitors on the success of the enterprise. Ho remarked that Australia was making great headway. The Commonwealth was out for the best, but he was sure that New Zealand would not come second. The movement in Australia was greatly helped by Manufacturers’ Weeks each year in the large centres and towns of all the States. The meeting carried a vote of thanks to the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Hon E. P. Lee) for the warm interest he had l>oen taking in the Dominion’s manufacturing industries.
