LAWN TENNIS.
NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 1. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association Lord Jelliooe was elected patron ; Mr Seay, of Christchurch, president; Mr Rotherham, delegate to the Lawn Tennis Association, London; Messrs Baxter, Fox, Gore and Manchee. delegates to the Australasian Association; and Mr Kean, secretary-treasurer. A motion by Mr KeesiDg to hold a conference to discuss matters concerning the game during the championship meeting in Christchurch was lost, only the mover voting for it. Speakers looked upon the proposal as tantamount to a vote of want of confidence in the association. A proposal to include two junior events In the banner competition met with opposition, and was temporarily withdrawn. It was decided that New Zealand should be represented on the Olympic Council. Consideration of accounts in connection with the Davis Cup contest at Auckland, was deferred till the next quarterly meeting.
The secretary’s allowance was increased by £25 per annum.
