The importance of proper house numbering was referred to by Councillor H. W. Wise at last night’s meeting of the Riccarton Borough Council, and it was resolved on his motion :—“ That, on the Town Clerk being notified of any number that has been obliterated from a gate, he give notice to the occupier or owner of the premises to replace the number.” At last night’s meeting of the Woolston Borough Council the resignation of Miss Mina Richardson, who has been employed in tho council office for the past five years, was accepted with regret. A testimonial expressing high appreciation of hex services and a photographic album were presented to Miss Richardson by the Mayor (Mr M’Gregor B. Wright).
