MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
TO-DAY’S CASES. CHRISTCHURCH. Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., presided over to-day’s sitting of the Magistrate’s Court. DRUNKENNESS. A first offender who had been admitted to bail was fined 10s, the amount of his bail. Alexander Magee, a second offender, was fined 10s in default forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. BROKEN ORDERS. Thomas Robertson Steele, who pleaded guilty to a charge of procuring liquor during the currency of his prohibition order, was fined 10s and costs. Henry Small, charged with entering the licensed premises of the Club Hotel, during the currency of a prohibition order, was fined 10s and costs. James M’Niclioll, charged with procuring liquor during the currency of his prohibition order, was fined 20s and exists. A SERIOUS CHARGE. Oscar Trice, twenty-six years of age, was charged with at Kaituna on October 22, with intent to do grievous bodily harm, he did attempt to discharge a firearm, to wit, a gun loaded with destructive material at Albert Newton and Annie Duncan. Mr E. W. White appeared for the accused. On the application of Sub-Inspector J. K. Simpson, the accused was remanded till to-morrow. Bail was refused.
