A cablegram from Berlin announces the death of Mumperdinck, tho composer. Mr Justice Adams was farewelled bv the Auckland Bar yesterday on the eve of his departure for Christchurch. Mr J. Hislop, Under-Secretary for Internal Affairs, is in Christchurch on official business. He will leave for Wellington this evening. Air W. A. who was recently elected M&yor of was the recipient of congratulations at yesterday’s meeting of the Farmers’ Union.
