SWIMMING.
NEW CLUB FORMED. An enthusiastic meeting of swimmers was held at Canterbury College last evening, at which it was decided to form a swimming club in connection with the College. The following officers were elected:—Patron, Mi H. D Aciand: president. Dr W. P. Evans; vipe-presidents, Dr C. Chilton, Professor T R. G. Blunt, and Messrs R. A. Campbell. K. BassetC A. G. Flower, and A. Fairburn; club captain, J. S‘. L. Deem; deputy-cap-tain, J. F. D. White; honorary secretary, F. W. Petre; honorary treasurer, F. C'eniow: committee-, Messrs P. G Ba-mford, J. B. Jackson and H. Lucent honorary instructors—swimming Mr C. Atkinßon. life-saving Mr P. G. Bam ford.
