SECOND GRADE. Merivale defeated Lyttelton by nine points to nil. Yates (2) and White scored for the winners. Mr G. Gray was referee. This was a semi-final game for the Junior competition. Cixriatchureli defeated North Canterbury by 9 to nil. Tries were scored by Webber, EEurby and Ro billiard.' Old Boy 3 defeated ’Varsity A by default. The Albion-Marists -fixture was not played. ’Varsity B won by default from Linwood. THIRD CRADE. M arista defeated ’Varsity in a third grade match by 9 points to 3. M-’Cormack and Goodman, a try each, cud Bachelor, a penalty goal, were the fcorexs for Murists. FOURTH CRADE. Kaiapoi won by default from St Andrew's CollegeOld Boys defeated Marist3 by default. FIFTH CRADE. At Kaiapoi to-day, Kaiapoi defeated Boys.’ High School by 9 points to 8. The Rev W. B. Scott was referee. Marista defeated Christ’s College by cie^ fault. SECONDARY SCHOOLS FOOTBALL. The annual football matches between the first and second fifteens of Christchurch B.H. S and Waitaki 8.8. S were iplayed at Oamarti yesterday. Christchurch B.H.S. first fifteen beat Waitaki first fifteen bv 22 to (>. Tries were scored by Davey. M’Millan. Werren (2) and Carleton. Kemp converted two tries and Page drop-kicked a goal from a mark. The game between the second fifteens resulted in an easy win for Waitaki by 21 to 0. Tries were scored by Ken (21. Sumpter, Gibbs and Heathen ngham. Sumpter converted three. A COLLECE MATCH. ST ANDREWS v. JOHN M’GLASKAN’S. The St Andrew's College team played a match in Dunedin yesterday against the John M’Glashan's Col.ewe. The game !•*- suited in a draw, neither side scoring. A friendly match between the Cathedral *nd Avonside choirs resulted in a draw, the score being 3 all.
