An indication that the Education Department intended to effect economies wherever possible in the matter of expenditure was received at to-day’s meeting of the Education Board, when th© Appointments Committee reported that - letter had been received from the Department intimating that steps should be taken to., transfer the forty-two teachers receiving salaries over scale.
