LAKE COLERIDGE RISING.

THIRTY INCHES SINCE MARCH 3.

The level of I>ake Coleridge has been steadily rising of late, according to information obtained to-day from the local office of the Lake Coleridge Electricity Supply. It is stated to be now about 2ft 6in above what it was on March 3. The previous report showed a rise of 20in up to June 27. The position is regarded as satisfactory, as the worst period of the year is thouglit to be past, and the lake is expected to have a good supply of water from now on, especially if the ranges receive good coatings of snow. However, it cannot be stated that tho danger of a shortage of power at the lake is past, as a dry spell could soon reduce the safety margin.
