DIPHTHERIA DECREASING,

+ TWO MORE HEALTH INSPECTORS.

The prevalence of diphtheria lias decreased recently, according to statements from the local office of tho Health Department. The bulletin for last week showed 15 eases in the North Canterbury district, as against 21 the previous week. Only one case is reported to have terminated fatally during June. Dr Telford, district health officer, stated this morning that only two cases of diphtheria had been reported during the preceding 24 hours—one at Buller and one at Grey, on the West Coast.
