NORTHERN A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

The first meeting of the newly elected general committee of the Northern A. and P. Association was held this morning. Mr W. Stalker presided over an attendance of twenty-nine membersTh president and secretary were appointed delegates to the Agricultural (Conference which will be held in Weilington next month. Seven resignations were accepted. Five new members were elected and two nominations were received. An application was received from the Rangiora. branch of the AV.E.A. for the use of the association’*s room for meeting purposes. The matter was referred to the Finance 'Sub-committee with power to act. Last year’s sub-committees were reelected. A discussion took place on a .motion by Mr J. E. Burns that an autumn show be substituted for the spring show but it was decided by twenty-live votes to four to adhere to the spring show. Air B. Ferguson moved that a twoday show be held. Tho motion was seconded pro lorma but was negatived, only three members voting in the affirmative. It was decided that members in charge of the live stock section of the show should act as a parade committee. A sub-committee consisting of Messrs W- Stalker (president), TV. A. Kelchcr and C. M’lntosh (vice presidents), R. Al’lntosli, J. E. Strachan, B. Fergusan, J. E. Burns, TV. J. Foster and T. Leech was appointed to report on a proposal to hold a winter show in addition to the spring fixture.
