Mr S. J- Collett, Government Tourist Agent in Christchurch, is visiting the southern lakes. He is expected in Ijnristchureh on Saturday evening. A meeting of Christchurch district poultrymen was held last evening, when it was agreed to appoint a committee to meet the Board of Trade at Christchurch on March 22 next, and supph* evidence regarding the restricted production of eggs in the Dominion. It is understood that bakers have agreed to obtain their egg supplies, without recourse to importation, if the New Zealand poultrymen can guarantee adequate supplies. It ia believed that such supplies can be forthcoming. The committee appointed last evening consists of Messrs R. W. Hawke, E. J. Ross, P. R. Whitford, J. Liggins, S. Dick, M. Bush and T. Fazackerly. Another meeting of the poultrymen will be held prior to March 22.
