DIVORCE MADE EASY.
TO THE EDITOR Sir.—Your correspondent, “Churchman,” in his reply to “ Ignorant ” on the revised divorce law is rather inclined to make himself very assertive when he states that “ Ignorant ” cannot see that society will be harmed if marriage is not made a hard and fast contract. “Ignorant” made no such statement that marriage should not be a hard and fast contract. Further, he asks how society will be harmed ? “ Churchman ” also states that by reducing the number of years from fire to three, carried to the ultimate, the same argument could be used in support of making a week's separation good grounds for a divorce. “ Churchman ” is evidently an extremist; according to him it must now be a matter of either a week or seven years. '* Churchman ” states that the new law will swell the divorce records of our courts, and the cumulative effect will be unfortunate. T hope “Churchman ” is speaking from experience and facts, otherwise what is the use of ibuch statements?—l am, etc., IGNORANT.
