Ingredients 71b of fat of any kind, and candle ends. 71b of caustic potash, loz of borax, Jib resin. Method.— Bill all scraps of fat, skimmings of soup, candle ends, and so on, into la re; jars iu the oven and melt. Add water and mix well, and allow it to cool But the potash into a large pan or fish-kettle. Add U gallon of cold water. Mix the cooled melted fat, borax and resin with tho potash and water, bring to the boil, nnd boil twenty minutes. Pour into tins and keep for use.
