Although one ouster produces about 1 ,(300.000 oysters in a year, only a few of these survive the attacks ot enemies, including whelks and limpets. Oi er fiOOO sermons have been preached in tho narish church of Langford, Beds., by Rev C. C. Ewbank. who has been the vicar for fifty-two years. About 60 per cent of the gross profits made by industry in Great Britain is paid away in taxation.
