INTERESTING FICURES. MINISTER'S STATEMENT. fPmn Press Association-.! WELLINGTON, January 17. Interesting figures in regard to the work of the Repatriation Department were given to a ‘‘ Post ” representative to-day by the Minister in charge cf the Denartment. ‘ 4 The expenditure on Repatriation,” said tho Minister, “ reached its maximum in December, 1910, in which month £120.000 was advanced to soldiers. Since then the expenditure has steadily decreased month by month, while the income from repayments of loans has increased steadily. It is anticipated that within the next three months the monthly income from repayments will about eqtiat the monthly expenditure.” The lion. D H. Guthrie explained that 85 per cent of,the expenditure was by way of loan. The total collection to the end of November, he said, was £376,542.
