The Bradford City Council decided by iifiy-eight votes to seventeen, t< confer the freedom of the city oi Field-Marshal Earl Haig. The Labou members opposed the proposal on tli ground that it was the wrong rnornen to honour militarism. The council will also confer a si mi la honour on a representative of th< rank and file.
