SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS

SUMMER SCHOOL. ' Tlie fifth annual summer school of the Sunday School Teachers’ Association is being held at Itangiora. This is ?. new venture. Thanks to the kindness of the Ran {flora High School Board the two hostels and the- school have been placed at the disposal of tha teachers. Thor© are about thirty Christchurch taehers in residence, while visitors from the surrounding districts attend the morning raid evening lectures. The first week-ond, beginning January 8, was arranged mainly for social intercourse. On Sunday the students attended services at the Parish Church, which v.-ero taken by the Itey F. Dunnage (Woolston), and the Rev U. N. Taylor, of St Luke’s. Christchurch. Cm Monday at tho invitation cf Mr Simokineon a happy morning was spent at his home on Mount Grey Down?. The evening was given up to explanation cf the time-table, after which stories were told by various students, malalv for practice in methods of tolling. Th© evening session was devoted to a. demonstration to middle school children by Miss Hawkins, followed by n. lecture oil Bible story telling by Miss M. J. Headridg*, Diocesan educational advisor. Tho services each day are Holy Communion at 7.15 a.m., evening prayer at 5.30 p.m., and compline at 8.45.
