It now appears, that Dr Tozer was some tune closeted in the drawing* room with Mrs Mort, and about noon the, lady 'companion to the latter, hearmg a noise resembling , shots in' the room, went to the door and found it locked. She asked if ‘ anything was wrong, and. Mrs Mort 'answered ‘‘ No/’ About five in the afternoon Mrs Mort called froip the bedroom, for a glass of water to be ! left outside the door. Later, when the door was forced, she was found unconscious* and Dr Tozer sitting dead on a couch, with a. revolver on his thigh. The police mention jealousy as the motive.
