MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

TO-DAY’S CASES. CHRISTCHURCH. (Before Mr V. G. Day, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Four first offenders were each fined five shillings. Michael Delaney, a third offender, was fined 20s, in default three days’ imprisonment. Stanley Geoffrey Mathias, a second offender, was fined 10s, in default forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. EXPOSURE. Edmund Campbell, a youth, appeared on two charges of having wilfully and obscenely exposed bis person, in T ra . falgar and Dover Streets, St Albans. Oil the application of Mr F. D. bargent, accused was remanded for a week, bail being allowed in one surety of £SO. J OBSCENE LANGUAGE. John Black was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment for using obscene language in a public place. CHILD. ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTED. Robert Douglas Bamberry was remanded for a week on a charge of having indecently assaulted a female child aged five years apd mine months. BY-LAW CASES. Bede Loughnau was fined 10s with costs for cycling within a Christchurch domain. For motor-cycling on footnnths Harry Pine and Albert K«ve Johnston were eacli fined 20s with costs. Harry Rnshworth was convicted and discharged on a charge of cycling on a footpath. Fines of 5s with costs were imposed upon George Clyne Lyttelton and Leslie Coleman for cycling on footpaths. Leslie Coleman, Arthur Sadler. Robert Pnllan, Darnel O’Brien and Richard Lenman were each fined 10s with costs for cycling without lights. Lewis Hamilton Campbell (Mr C. E. Wanklyn) was fined 20s with costs for leaving a motor-car without lights. A charge against him of leaving a car unattended was dismissed. Harold Doreen and Herbert J. Armstrong were each fined 10s and costs for leaving cars unattended, Charles M. Guineas was ordered to pav 0s costs on a. charge 0 f leaving a vehicle on the New Brighton Esplanade. Clmrged with havmg ridden a motorbicvole without being in possession of a certificate of competency.
