The condition of W. Kent, who was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital yesterday suffering from internal injuries caused by being crushed against a wall by a motor lorry, is reported to .bo unchanged. At an inquest held at the Courthouse yesterday, before Mr b. hi. M’Carthy, Coroner, a verdict was returned in accordance with the medical testimony of Hr Temple that the cause of death was heart t'aiiun?. There was a large number of unemployed watersiders at Lyttelton yesterday morning, owing to there being an acute shortage of railway trucks. The Japanese collier, Kosoko, was i unable to make a start until 10 a.m., and the Roherua, Karori and Navua fared even worse, as they were unable to make a start until 1 p.m., and even during the afternoon frequent stoppages were experienced on these vessels owing to the shortage. The Nitrokrig could employ only-two gangs instead of four, and the City of Edinburgh four gangs instead of eight. Vessels with cargo lor discharge were the Karori (general), Kosoko Marti (coal), Navua (general), Orepuki (timber), Pohcrua (coal) and Nitrokns (basic phosphate); and loadiim were the I'lora (general;, (Shropshire (mutton), Runic (mutton), and Zita (general). A considerable quantity of the labour available was engaged for I p.m., when it was learned that trucks had arrived from Christchurch.
