SOCIAL AND DANCE AT RANGIORA.
On Wednesday evening a, most successful social was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Rangiora, by tlio members of the stall' of the. .New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Association and friends, about 200 being present. Mils. W. Relph (general manager of the association), Mr A. W. Jamieson (assistant manager), M. liutler (drapery department manager) and several heads of departments at the city business house were present. Tho evening was devoted to dancing, interspersed with musical items, contributed by Mrs Trollope, Airs Chappell and Messrs 8. Gibbs and Bishop, and a sword dance by Miss Watkins. The opportunity was taken to bid farewell to Mr C. H. Bjill, who is leaviug shortly to take up the position of drapery manager at the Blenheim branch, and Mr Relph, on behalf of the Rangiora staff, presented him with a solid leather suit-case, suitably inscribed, and a travelling-rug and gold wristlet watch to Mrs Bull as a. mark of the esteem in which they are both held. Mr G. J. Leech (branch manager) and Mr G. J5. Springer (drapery department) also spoke in congratulatory terms of Mr Bull's promotion, and wished him a successful future. Amongst the ladies present were:—Mrs Leech, gowned in myrtle-green crepe de chinej Mrs Bull,' navy blue crepe de chine; Mrs Chappell, black chiifon taffeta,; Mrs Springer, a black silk skirt and white net blouse; Mrs Butters, black velvet; Mrs £>ix (Christchurch), navy georgette; Mrs Stanton, brown silk and georgette; Mrs Trollope, black net; airs Bell a net blouse and saxe-bluo silk skirt; Mrs Montgomery (Christchurch), black silk taffeta ; Miss George, white crepe de chine; Miss Allen, black crepe de chine; Miss Ritchie, lemon georgette; Miss JS'evil],, emerald-green ninon and crepe de chine; Miss Greig, emerald-green ninon; Miss Shilling, black georgette and crepe de chine; Miss Howe, pale blue net; Miss Younfj, white crepe de chine; Miss Coates. pink georgette; and Miss M'Jkenzie,' pink crepe de chine and gold lace. Messrs W. E>. Cockroft and R. Fou bister were M.C.'s.
