KITCHEN FATIGUE.
fy THE TROUBLE AT THE HILLS. _ Thirty-two patients at tin* Military Sanatorium on the C'asluuere Hills, who' came out without leave yesterday, returned last night, but as they.still refused to wash up, and as in consequence the authorities refused to supply them with meals, they came to the city for (heir breakfasts and dinners, which they paid for out of their own pockets. They waited on the Mayor again today and discussed the position with him. The patients told the. Mayor that they had arranged with a caterer in tho city to send provisions to them at the Sanatorium by motor. Some members of yesterday’s de.putat.ion were exhausted by their efforts. Other patients washed up for those men. and their meals were supplied by tho authorities. Complaints were made to the Mayor that the shelters at the Sanatorium leak, and that this defect was] brought under the notice of Sir James Allen and of .the doctors. During the jast snowstorm, they said, soldiers’ blankets became wet, and rain often came in so readily that the blankets had to be removed. A deputation also waited upon tho secretary of the Returned .Soldiers' Association (Mr W. E. Lendley) and made a statement of their grievances to him. The association was requested to take tile matter up on the men's behalf.
