The largest attendance of tho season greeted the New South Waits Slate Orchestra, o.t tho King Edward Barracks lost night on tho occasion of the final concert. the big building beiug_ well filled, arc! Tho chief programme number was Beclluive.-ih Symphony No, 5, in C Minor, rho other threo purely orchestral contributions being the overtures to " Die Freisvbuts " {Weber). “ Migroil' 1 (Ambrose Thomas', and " Tannhanscr ’’ (Wagner), all finely performed. Miss Jenny Cullen wo> tho t-o'.Oi?t in. the presentation of Saint-Sacr-Vs concerto in B -Minor, No. 3, for violin and orchoitra. Miss Cullen combined beauty o; tone with marked facility of action, and tho orchestra c.-cooizipanyin;'; veil, the work, although a little long for the occasion, v. us thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated, vim perlormer being encored. Mens. Albert Gooi.sens, the baritone, soloist, gave \cry much pleasure with his singing of an aria from ‘-Rieolclto" and Mr Alfred Hill's “ Tnugi,” the orchestral support in each instance being excoiier.", and encores being accorded.
