They stated that the smallness of the quantity available at present was causing much uneasiness to farmers and ma'chiiie proprietors. Mr Masser agreed to divert a coa.l eafgo of 0000 tons, at mvasent on the v.-ay from South Africa, to Canterburfor threshing purposes.

The coal is .-aid to bo of a much bettor quality than that previously received from Drlagoa.
