OBITUARY.

CAPTAIN LLOYD. The death is announced, at Hawora, of Captain William Thomas Lloyd, eldest sou of the late Edward Lfovd, of Cashmere. Tlie late Captain Lloyd, who was thirty-six years of age, left c ‘ a^m d with the Main Body of the Expeditionary Force, lidding the rank of quartermaster-sergeant. He secured his commission subsequently, and rose to the rank of captain. lie returned to the Dominion recently by the Tofua and two days after his arrival took tip the position of demobilisation officer at Wellington. Ho relinquished this position after the last transport left Britain and was sneiutin<r a few days with a brother in Hawera. as part of his month’s demobilisation leave, when he contracted pneumonia, from which ho failed to recover. The late Captain Llovd was well known in Christchurch and was highly respected by all those with whom lie came in contact. Ho will be accorded a military funeral on Wednesday.
