WEDDINGS.

ARDAGH—HANNA, One of the most popular and largely attended weddings ever celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church, Timaru, took plapej °n Monday morning last, when Jehu Joseph, eldest son of Mr and' Mrs J. ■ J.; Ardagh, Glenavy, was married to Mera> youngest daughter of ’ Mrs Hanna, Christchurch. Father Arbrother of the bridegroom, officii and was assisted by the Rev ■ Father Bartley. The bride, who was givem away by her brother-in-law, Mr H.-Williams, wore a charming frock of pale -pink georgette, veiled with white, andtoaught up with pale pink flowers. Hetr., veil was of white , arranged, mobcap style, with a pole pink georgette flower wreath, and she carried a sheaf of lilies.- Mr Cyril Tansey was best roan, and Lieutenant T. Tansey groomsman. Miss Josie Hanna, in a quaint frock of floral muon arid a Large hat i toned in pink and- heliotrope, was bridesmaid, and Mrs N. Mangos presided at the organ. A reception was held in the afternoon at “Kiltellah,” the residence of Mrs Williams, and" the Very Rev Dean Tubman presided. A large number of relations and near friends of the bride and bridegroom were present here and at the ceremony, including Mrs Hanna, who wore black silk, with an amethyst hat wreathed in nviolet; Mrs Ardagh, in a black silk costume and black crepe de chine hat; Mrs Williams, mauve and gold costume and hat; Mrs Tansey, check costume and hat to match; and Mrs Dwyer, black costume. For the honeymoon trip, which was made by motor, the bride wore a fawn costume and fur coat, and a small black and gold !isserie straw bat, with gold tale loops at the back. HEBLEY—VELVIN. .A very pretty., wedding was solemnised at the Oxford Terrace Baptist Church yesterday afternoon, when Miss Lena Velvin, younger daughter of Mrs J. W. Velvin, Gresford Street/ St Albans, was married to Mr Henry F. J. Hebley, son of the late Mr and Mrs Henry Hebley, Spreydon. The church was beautifully decorated by girl friends of the bride. The Rev j. J. North was the officiating minister. Mr A. Lilley, w)io presided, at the organ, played the Bridal March from “ Lohengrin ’ as the bride entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr W. Velvin. She .looked charming in a. frock of white crepq de chine and georgette. The bodice was made in cross-over style with a vest of Brussels lace, which also edged the georgette skirt panels. An embroidered, veil was also worn, held in place by a circlet of pearls. The bridesmaid was Miss Minnie Lee, who wore a becoming frock of pale grey crepe de chine, with hand embroideries in pastel shades of blue and pink; Her grey hat was lined with vieux rose' and trimmed with a wreath ‘of tiny flowers. _ There were also two little flower girls, the Misses Olive and Ngaire Brown (nieces of the bridegroom), who looked very, sweet in white embroidered silk frocks, carrying baskets of flowers- The bridegroom was attended by Mr W. Turnpenny, as best man. The wedding breakfast was held in the schoolroom adjoining the church, .to which about sixty' guests sat down. Mrs J. W. Velvin (mother of the bride) wore a black costume with smart black hat and carried ; a bouquet of purple flowers. Others present were Miss Velvin, Mrs W. Velvin and Mrs Lawson Brown (sister of the bridegroom). Mr and Mrs Hebley left for Auckland en route to their future home in America.
