A column from Kanrbridgc on October 6 engaged tho same party, then estimated to he 600 strong, near Alanghi. It first drove the enemy into th© hills, but later apparently fell into an ambush. The column was only able to reach Kaurbridge after heavy fighting. The casualties are believed to have been approximately eighty, including two British and one Indian medical officer.
