SALE OF WORK.
A sale of work in connection with the Clarence Road Methodist Church was opened by Mr A. D. Ford. Mayor of Riccarton, on Thursday last, and the financial results exceeded expectations, and reflected credit on all concerned. The members of Mr A. A. Bickerton’s orchestra gave their services during the evening, and the music provided was greatly appreciated by those present. The stalls were in charge of the following ladies;— Plain sewing, Mrs Watson, Mrs Camnion and Mrs Carr: fancy sewing, Mrs C. W. Barrell and Miss E. Snowball; sweets. Miss Caygill and Miss Henderson; cake and produce, Mrs Hooper, Mrs W. IT. Barrell and Miss Fairweather; refreshments. Mrs Bates and Mrs Climpson: competitions, Mrs Carr, Mrs Damns. Miss Campion and the Misses Johnston.
