The Minister of Public Works lias forwarded to Mr M’Ennis written instructions 1o make a survey of the proposed tunnel road. This morning, in company with Mr H. G- Mi, M.V.. Mr M'Lnnis visited Heathcote and Lyttelton to inspect probable sites for the tunnel road openings. As soon as those are selected the places will bo placarded, for the information of the public. Mr Ell proposes to call a meeting of the condinitt-cc shortly, so that, the movement may be formally launched.
