FIREMAN’S FUNERAL.
The funeral oi the late Branchman ■J. H. Johnston took place at Sydenham Cemetery on Saturday afternoon. The service at tho graveside was conducted by the Rev J. K. Archer, of the Sydenham Baptist, Church. There was a , fn] l ™ Tlat « r of firemen from Christchurch Railway Fire Brigade, of which Branchman Johnston was a member. There was also a good muster from the City, Addington Railway, New,. Brighton, TVoolston, Sumner and Kaiapoi Brigades. The coffin was conveved on the reels of the Christchurch Railway iMie Brigade plan*. Tiierc 'werfi representativds from the Amalgamated yOOicty of Railway Servants and the Railway Union Sick Benefit Society, also a large number of the late Branchman Johnston’s comrades from the railway goods sheds. Wreaths were sent bv the Christchurch Ilailwav Fire RriJadc Christchurch City Brigade, Addington Railway Brigade, goods sheds employees, Armstrong and Co.’s employees, Mrs A. E. Finnertr Air and Mrs G. Howison. Air and ' Mrs TV Compton, Airs R. Campbell, Air and Mrs T. Thin, Mrs Vivian, Airs T. Cox, Air abd. Alrg Stackhouse, Air and Airs A Marsh, Mr and Airs R. Burgess Mrs Ternss, Airs TV. Conlam Airs J. Johnston, Airs C- Cox. Airs Blake. ACss I. Jack and Mr and Mrs H. Bichards.
