FIREMAN’S FUNERAL.

The funeral oi the late Branchman ■J. H. Johnston took place at Sydenham Cemetery on Saturday afternoon. The service at tho graveside was conducted by the Rev J. K. Archer, of the Sydenham Baptist, Church. There was a , fn] l ™ Tlat « r of firemen from Christchurch Railway Fire Brigade, of which Branchman Johnston was a member. There was also a good muster from the City, Addington Railway, New,. Brighton, TVoolston, Sumner and Kaiapoi Brigades. The coffin was conveved on the reels of the Christchurch Railway iMie Brigade plan*. Tiierc 'werfi representativds from the Amalgamated yOOicty of Railway Servants and the Railway Union Sick Benefit Society, also a large number of the late Branchman Johnston’s comrades from the railway goods sheds.
