PROFESSOR BARRADEN.
ALLEGED FALSE PRETENCES. “HYPNOTIST*’ IN COURT. Ray Alfred Saunders, otherwise known as Professor Barraden, hypnotist, who has toured the dominion on various occasions, appeared before Mr S. E. M’Carthy, S.M., at the Magistrate’s Court- to answer a charge of obtaining on November 5, 1918, the sum £6 os46d from John Sutton by means of a valueless cheque. Mr Cassidy, who appeared for the accused said that Saunders presented the cheque in all good faith. He bad a banking account and thought he had sufficient means to meet the cheque. As one of the police witnesses had not arrived from Wellington the case was allowed to stand down till this afternoon.
