Mr E. H. Andrews (chairman of vho Canterbury Education Board) and Mr H. C. Lane (secretary), who are attendmg a conference of Education Boards in Wellington, will return to Clyistehurch on Monday. A brass tablet, commemorating the centenary of the discovery of electromagnetism by Hans Christian Oversted, a Danish scientist, has heed made to the order of the Canterbury Philosophical Institute. The tablet will be placed in a prominent position at the Lake Coleridge power station, and it .is in* tended to ask a representative of the Public Works Department to attend a special meeting of the institute on October 15 and to officially receive the tablet.
