Unfortunately this solo did not serve its intended purpose of lotting the audience hear how Miss Mitchell plays. Her tone was light, the orchestral playxngWas, heavy, and sometimes one could hardly" hear the solo instrument. Enough was learned, however to war£apt an encore, and then the proof of Miss Mitchell s skill was a irmly sup* plied, for she chose the adagio from * ' concerto by Tartini, and played it beautifully to a piano accompaniment KRP“ e “ b l Adoma Aitken.
