The.ohajge was bashtf ‘ on the statement that the firm sold flannel at 3s 3d per yard, which the Crown alleged was unreasonably high , the opportunity for obtaining such a price in New Zealand having arisen bv reason of the scarcity of such goods caused by war conditions. The Magistrate accepted the proposition put forward by the defendants that if a loss was incurred on one line of goods they should be allowed to increase the price of other goods to make provision for such loss, though, in the case under review, ho said the gross profit was unreasonable and excessive. However.'He found that defendants had no mphEpoly, and that if purchasers were not satisfied with tho price charged they could get the goods, elsewhere at toss cost. The information was dismissed. "
