NEW ZEALAND STAFF.
RETURNED SOLDIERS APPLY FOR VACANCIES. [Prr Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 24. About three hundred applications were received for vacancies on the New Zealand staff from returned soldiers. Of these forty-seven were chosen to go into camp for training and testing by a hoard composed of General Robin, General Russell, General Richardson and General Hart. They are nearly all decorated men and very few are seniors, preference being given to younger men. Among these are three V.C.'s—-Lieu-tenant Andrews, Lieutenant Judson, and Lieutenant Frickleton. They have still to prove their fitness and this selection does not necessarily mean actual appointment.
