It was decided that after July 1, 1919, breeders must tattoo or fire brand all animals twod for breeding purposes and that the tattoo or fire brand bo included witb pedigree and annual breeding returns. Air J. A. Coop moved: “ That it be a recommendation to the Government that stud cattle submitted for public sale should be tested for soundness.” Air G. Stoddart considered that the motion would penalise tho man who did not sell his stock publicly. It was invidious to particularise stud cattle and let the sellers of other stock escape. Mr Coop agreed to substitute “breeding” for “ stud ” cattle. , Air D. G. "Wright considered that the suggested alteration would kill the proposal as the Government A’cterinary Department could not deal with ihe number of insooclions which would be rendered necessary.
