THE TIMARU SEAT. [Per Press Association.] TIMARU, August 12. A representative deputation waited on Mr J. Craigio, M.P., whose retirement. lias been rumoured, with a request that he should allow himself to be nominated for the next election. Speakers eulogised Mr Craigie’s groat services and the necessity for experienced men in the next Parliament to solve the great problems ahead of the country. Mr Oraigie spoke of the valuable work done by the National Government, although it might have made mistakes- Regarding the future he said the Dominion’s weal was of greater importance than party consideration. • He promised to consider tn.e request and give a reply later, assuring those present that if he consented he would he found with the progressive group.
