DEFENCE OFFCERS.
new APPOINTMENTS. • Two new appointments have been made m the Canterbury Military District Headquarters. Colonel J. B. Barton, N.Z.5.0., has been appointed Chief Staff Officer for the district and will take Over the duties at present carried out by Captain D. M. Robertson, A.A.G., who will be demobilised at the end of this month. Colonel F. Symons, C-M.G.. D.5.0., RI'LZ.A., has been appointed Staff Officer for Artillery for the district and will commence his duties next month.
