The Maniapoto tribe of Maoris, which is centred at Te Kuiti, , has collected a substantial sum for tho erection of a war memorial in the form of a concrete flagstaff, which is to contain the names of over eighty Natives who have served in the war. The structure will be of concrete for the ( first 25ft, and the remaining loft will-be of, cast-iron, if procurable, but failing that- tof timber. The memorial is to be erected near the Te Ivuiti meeting-house ' at " an'early' date. - :
