RICCARTON FIRE.

The committee of the Canterbury Jockey Club held a vieeting on the course at Riccartoh yesterday afternoon to discuss the position arising out of the fire which destroyed the grandstand ' r on Saturday night. The club’s architect, Mr E. S. Luttrell, was present, and made some suggestions for temporary stund accommodation for the Grand National meeting next month. After hearing Mr Lute t.rells proposals, the Committee authorised linn to proceed with the work at once, giving him a free hand to do ■ the best that was possible for next month s fixture. *
