Howes presided. _ The annual report of the committee submitted, by ttie seexetarv (Mr H. M. Chappell) expressed sincere thanks to the church congregation for assistance given the -Troop during initial year. The roll number of the Troop was stated to he thirty. Tweni-y-uine had passed their ” tenderfoot examination,- twenty-three their second-class test x and one his first-class. In connection with .the influenza epidemic, it was said that the Scouts had proved to be one of the mopt useful in the Dominion, and the Joan Knox Troop was “ well in the fight.” The committee placed or- record its warm appreciation of the services of the Scout master. Mr C. IX Gibson, where energy and thoroughness in .parrying out his duties, accompanied by hip tactful manner, had won him the highest respect and esteem of Isis Troop. The services of an assistant Scoutmaster had been secured, Mr Angus M’Kay. an old Scout, having offered to assist Mr Gibson in his work. The balance-sheet gave the receipts as £29 2s Tod, and the expenditure had been £-27 4s. After adopting the report and balance-sheet, and according thanks to the retiring officers, the foil owing were elected to .servo in office during the year-Chairman, Mr A. P. Strang; secretary, Mr H. Downes.; treasurer, Mr H. M. Chappell; committee, the Hev W. H. Howes. Scoutmaster C. D. Gibson. Messrs j. Moreland, C. H. Hargreaves and A. M’Kav.

Tho South Island men from the Rualune arrived in Lyttelton this morning by the Mararqa. They included three officers, twenty-five soldiers and seven wives of soldiers for the Canterbury district, and five officers, forby-six men and seventeen wives for Otago. - Lieutenant P. E. Ford© was in charge of the Canterbury men. and: Lieutenant E. b.. Mofht was in charge, of those for Otago.
